How to style your bridal jewellery

The venue? Check. The guest-list? Check. The dress? Check. The jewellery? Hmm….

So often left until the last minute, choosing your bridal jewellery is such an important part of your big day; it adds the finishing touch to your look and completes your wedding vision. Not only do you need to decide what jewellery you will wear, you also need to give some thought to how you’ll style it.

Look no further than our handy little guide.

Buy the dress before the jewels

The jewellery you wear should complement the look and feel of your dress; a bohemian gown may work with double drop diamond earrings, while a fresh water pearl necklace may perfectly suit a sleek sheath dress.

Necklines

A high neckline may not demand a necklace, and a pair of beautiful earrings may be all you need; equally, a low neckline and exposed décolletage may lend itself perfectly to a delicate chain necklace.

Simplicity

Enhance your look > overwhelm. Complement your dress > take over. Simplicity is key!

Hair styling

It’s fairly uncommon to wear hair jewellery day-to-day, but your ‘big day’ is different. Sometimes an accessory such as a pin or comb can not only help practically by holding your hair in place, but perfectly finish your look. You may also decide on a wedding veil to show your personal style, with a nod to tradition.

Theme

A beach wedding has a very different atmosphere to country house hotel nuptials; while an anklet may be a beautiful choice for a barefoot ceremony, a tiara may be a perfect addition for a grander affair.

Be yourself

Lastly, but by no means least, wear jewellery that’s ‘you’. It’s a special day for you and your partner, and feeling yourself is paramount. If you are calmly confident, you will glow!
